Dr Paul Tsai - Specialist Periodontist

Dr Paul Tsai is a Sydney based Specialist Periodontist at The Gum Specialists in Campsie. He completed his dental degree with Class I Honours from The University of Queensland in 2003. Since then he had been in private practice in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Taiwan for 5 years before he moved to Boston for his Specialist Periodontist Residency at Boston University, Massachusetts, USA.
During his residency in the states, he was awarded the Ruben Scholarship for academic and clinical excellence in periodontology. While working in Dallas, Texas after his residency, he also successfully achieved Board Certification as a Diplomate from the highly regarded American Board of Periodontology. Currently, he is a Surgical Mentor in the Postgraduate Diploma of Dental Implantology at the Charles Sturt University.
At The Gum Specialists in Campise, his practice includes all facets of periodontics and implant dentistry with a special interest in soft and hard tissue grafting, including sinus lifts and block grafts for implants.
Dr Tsai regularly attends major international and local periodontal and implant conferences and meetings to provide his patients the best possible treatment options available.

Dr Denny Luo - Specialist Periodontist BDS(JCU), BDS(Hons), DClinDent(Perio).
Dr. Denny Luo grew up in Sydney and graduated from James Cook University in Cairns with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2017 and subsequent Honours in 2018. He developed a deep interest in periodontics and implant dentistry and commenced a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Periodontics) at the University of Sydney in 2020.
Denny has published articles in reputable international journals, presented at multiple research conferences, and has been awarded the Straumann Group Research Award, the Australian Dental Research Foundation Grant, the Colgate Travel Award to present research at the 58th Annual Scientific Meeting of the IADR ANZ Division, the Australian Society of Periodontology Medal, the Best Research Poster Prize for the JCU Colleges of Medicine & Dentistry, and Healthcare Sciences, the NAHSS Allied Health Clinical Placement Scholarship, the Head of Dentistry Best Student Research Poster (JCU), and the Overall Best Poster Award for Research at the JCU College of Dentistry: Clinical Day.
Dr. Denny is also actively involved in clinical education with the Sydney Dental School and is eager to assist and educate colleagues in periodontics and implant dentistry.
Dr Fady Bassily - Specialist Periodontist BDSc (Hons), MDSc, MFDS RCSEd, DClinDent (Perio).
Dr. Fady Bassily is a professional, friendly, and caring periodontist, whose dental journey spans over 15 years, characterized by excellence and ongoing learning. Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Dental Medicine and Surgery in 2008, Dr Bassily displayed early dedication to the field. Eager to deepen his expertise, he pursued a Master's degree in Prosthodontics in 2014, followed by a Diploma of Membership of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Edinburgh In 2016.
Driven by a passion for periodontics and implant dentistry, Dr Bassily continued his educational journey by obtaining his specialist degree, Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontics from the prestigious University of Sydney. This advanced training equipped him with the specialized knowledge and skills needed to excel in all aspects of the field. During his specialist training, Dr Bassily was involved in teaching at the University of Sydney contributing to the education of future dental professionals. His research project focused on studying microbial biofilm formation around dental implants.
Dr Bassily has absolute passion in providing a better quality of life to his patients by his comprehensive and personalized care.
Dr Bassily is an active member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA), the Australian Society of Periodontology (ASP), the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP), the International Team for Implantology (ITI), and the Osteology foundation.
When not working, Dr Bassily enjoys quality family time with his wife and two gorgeous daughters. He finds joy in exploring new destinations and engaging in various sports activities.
Dr Bassily is fluent in Arabic and French.

INGGRID WIJAYA - PERIODONTAL HYGIENIST
Inggrid is our Periodontal Hygienist at The Gum Specialists and she is here to help! Growing up, she always believed that the Mouth is the gateway to the whole body so Oral health is an indicator of overall health. Preventing oral health problems like gingivitis and periodontal disease will definitely reduce the risk of more serious health issues throughout the body.
After attaining her Bachelor of Oral Health in 2012 at University of Newcastle, she started her mission to help patients with excellent, dedication, assertiveness, and professionalism. She works well under pressure and thrive in challenges in order to provide the best care for her patients and that is just a few of her personal attributes.
Outside of her busy work life, she enjoys volunteering at her local community. Her little pearl of wisdom in life: Life is short, smile while you still have teeth!
Annie Rijal - PERIODONTAL HYGIENIST
Annie graduated from University of Newcastle in 2013. She is passionate about providing excellent care to every patient with a gentle approach. As a dental hygienist, Annie has clinical interest in periodontics, particularly treatment and maintenance of gum health. Annie loves being able to create long lasting relationships where she gets to know her patients above and beyond their dental needs.
Away from the practice, she loves spending time with family and friends, camping, hiking and exploring new places.
